Got the club going up....

Tuesday is normally a running day for me.  But yesterday, as I looked at my schedule, I realized that I wasn't going to be able to fit in my run in the afternoon.  So I had a choice to make; should I wake up super early and run at the gym or should I skip today's run?

Spoiler alert - I decided to get up early and hit the gym.  I got out of bed around 4:15, put on some coffee, and changed into my gym clothes before heading out.  When I arrived, I was surprised at how busy the gym was at 5 AM!  There was actually a line waiting for the doors to open and once the gym officially opened, the machines around me quickly filled up.  

On the schedule today was a 17 minute tempo run.  This workout consisted of a mile warm up, some stretching, a 17 minute run done at tempo pace (~ 9:03 for me), a mile cool down, and more stretching.  All in all, the workout took me about an hour and I ran a little under four miles. 

After I finished the run, I jumped into the shower to quickly rinse off.  I changed into work clothes and made the commute to work.  When I got to my desk, I took a minute to reflect on how great and refreshed I felt.  I realized I should run more often in the morning before work - I was in a great mood all day!
